9h sprint to release Great Suspender Recovery Tool
by Dave StewartFollowing the deletion of users tabs around the world, I set to work to build an extension that would recover them from history:
- 21:00 - fork my other extension WorkFlowy MultiFlowy
- 01:00 - POC which could copy data to the clipboard
- 04:00 - bookmarking functionality added
- 06:00 - feature complete and ready to go live
Between the hours of 6 and 8am I got trigger happy on Twitter, and at 8:05am I released to Product Hunt just after 12am Pacific time!
Because the Chrome Web Store was currently taking 3-4 days to approve a product, I decided to release to GitHub so anyone could download and sideload the extension without waiting a few, agonising days:
The aim was to make it a much less stressful day for those who lost their tabs, but also to give the wider world a sneak preview of something I've been working on for some time now (watch this space!)

I found out about the malware issues with the Great Suspender last month and since I open A LOT of tabs while studying and working 😅, I had to look for other alternatives to fill the void. Have been using the Simple Tab Suspender tool and its been an awesome replacement.
