2The first paid bid is a useful signal because someone actually crossed the “pay” threshold. Curious whether the bidder was motivated by the product itself, or mainly by wanting the top spot.

1Excellent observation, Aryan! I believe that gamification and the desire to secure first place spoke louder at this first moment. The $1 barrier is low enough for curiosity to win. The challenge now is to prove that this top brings real traffic to keep the wheel turning!
