Amazon search trends: See what keywords are rising

July 12, 2026 I’m building a tool to detect marketplace search trends before they become obvious
Tubes for river floating” improved from rank 1,273,156 to 19,799 across 12 weeks, with every comparable weekly movement trending in the same direction

I’ve been building a small marketplace trend research tool for Amazon sellers, and this is one of the clearest examples I’ve found so far.

The keyword “tubes for river floating” moved from a search rank of roughly 1.27 million to 19,799 over 12 weeks.

Since a lower rank means stronger search demand, that represents a 98.4% improvement.

What interested me wasn’t only the size of the move. It was the structure behind it:

  • 11 out of 11 comparable weekly periods improved

  • 100% historical coverage

  • 100% consistency

  • Moderate volatility

  • Continued positive movement in the most recent weeks

The tool scored it 97/100 — Breakout.

This is the problem I originally wanted to solve for myself: search volume can show what is already popular, but it doesn’t always show whether a keyword is steadily gaining momentum or merely experiencing a temporary spike.

So I started analyzing weekly search-rank history using signals such as:

  • Total rank improvement

  • Week-to-week consistency

  • Recent acceleration or slowdown

  • Volatility

  • Amount of supporting historical data

The goal is to surface marketplace demand while a trend is still developing, before competition and advertising costs fully catch up.

I’m now turning the internal tool into a small SaaS called Uptrend Hunter.

I’d be interested to hear how other founders would approach the scoring. Would you prioritize consistency, acceleration, total improvement, or volatility when deciding whether a trend is real?

December 26, 2025 I didn’t build a product. I tracked a signal.

I’ve been watching Amazon search data for weeks.

One boring keyword caught my eye:
“turkey hats for adults”

No hype.
No TikTok trend.
No influencer push.

Just one thing: steady search growth (see chart).

This is the pattern I keep seeing:

  • Not viral spikes

  • Not seasonal-only noise

  • Slow, boring, compounding demand

Most people chase:

  • “What’s trending today?”

  • “What’s exploding right now?”

I care about:

  • “What’s quietly rising for months?”

That’s exactly why I’m building Uptrend Hunter.
Not to predict hype — but to surface early momentum before it’s obvious.

Still validating. Still shipping.
But signals like this are why I believe boring > sexy.

Happy to share how I filter these if anyone’s interested.

November 28, 2025 Advent calendars always spike — the gold is knowing which style wins this year
wooden advent calendar search trend rising steadily from August to mid-November (Uptrend Hunter chart)

Advent calendars going up in Q4 is expected. That’s not an insight.

The real edge is spotting which specific variant is winning before the rush.

Example: “wooden advent calendar” has been climbing steadily since early August (chart). That’s the kind of signal that helps you:

  • pick the right product style (not just the category)

  • shift PPC into rising terms earlier (cheaper than late Nov/Dec)

  • plan inventory around the winning variant, not generic seasonality

Curious: what other specific products are you seeing move this year ?

November 27, 2025 I built a tool to catch rising Marketplace search trends before they peak

I kept missing Marketplace trends because I had no way to see which search terms were actually rising week-to-week. I built a simple tool that shows real momentum so I could launch earlier and run ads more efficiently. It worked for me, others asked for it, and now I’m turning it into a small micro-SaaS.

I like that you're measuring momentum instead of popularity.

Search volume tells you where demand is. The direction and consistency of that demand are what help someone decide before the market becomes crowded.

About

Most Amazon sellers waste money because they react too late. They launch products after the trend has peaked, run ads without knowing which terms are gaining momentum, and rely on guesswork. I’m building Uptrend Hunter
