Vindra
A private, offline journal — no account, no cloud, just your
I just added Vindra to Indie Hackers. It's a journaling app built around one idea: your private thoughts shouldn't need an account or a cloud connection to exist.
The idea started when I found a stack of my fiancée's old journals — years of entries, never digital, never synced anywhere, just hers. That's the feeling I wanted to rebuild digitally. Vindra works fully offline, no sign-up, and nothing ever leaves your device.
As a solo dev, that decision also simplified everything on my end — no backend, no auth flow, no server costs, no data breach risk to lie awake about.
About
Vindra exists because I found a stack of my fiancée's old journals — years of entries, never digital, never synced anywhere, just hers. That moment made me want to rebuild that same privacy digitally: fully offline

The offline-first decision is interesting because it removes a whole category of friction.
Curious whether users are choosing Vindra specifically for the privacy, or whether the simplicity of not needing an account is the bigger draw.
