After some months of intense use of Copilot, Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT, and thanks a lot to what I have learnt in the past, I have finally launched Wishplace, designed to tackle the struggle of finding an apartment from a different angle: the reverse market.

The challenge/experiment was to create a mobile app completely using AI tools. And I did it!

How it works?

Those looking for a home simply set their desired locations and preferences, and then wait for owners to contact them. No more hunting through endless listings. No more stress of constantly checking websites, or visiting agencies that usually keep the best deals for themselves and set their own prices.

Owners, whether they are currently looking to sell/rent or not, can list their property’s location and see who might be a good match. I believe that if an owner sees someone is looking specifically in their building and the price is right, they might be encouraged to finally sell or rent and move somewhere they like even more.

It’s a new innovative cycle I want to start to try and solve the frustration we all face when trying to buy, rent, or sell.

I have also included in the app AI suggestions for other locations users might like, plus local News and Events so people can enjoy the app while comfortably waiting for someone to reach out.

I am trying to launch it in the city where I live, Barcelona, and I’m currently in the feedback-gathering phase. I’d like to hear any feedback (positive or constructive) to help me improve the app.

Have you ever looked at a building and thought: “I’d love to live there… but it’s probably too expensive”?

Maybe someone inside that building would be willing to sell or rent at a price you could actually afford. The problem is: you would never know.

Today, the only way to discover opportunities is by visiting agencies, checking dozens of websites, or waiting for the perfect listing to appear. And if you own a place, you only find out whether someone wants to buy it, and for how much, only once you decide to sell and publish an ad.

The system is inefficient. Finding the place you dream of often feels like luck, stress, and countless visits to apartments that don’t match reality or the owner’s expectations.

So I started exploring an idea: WishPlace, an inverse housing market. It’s not a product yet, just an idea and a proof of concept.

You simply save the places where you’d love to live, set your basic requirements, and wait. Owners get in touch when the moment is right, privately, through a secure chat, without seeing your phone number unless you choose to share it. Owners, agencies, and residents could also see real interest for each building: who wants to live there, their budget, and their conditions. A more transparent view of what buyers are actually looking for.
