I was tired of word-counting sites cluttered with heavy ads, slow load times, and annoying pop-ups. So, I decided to fire up VS Code and build my own solution: wordcounter-english. It’s designed to be a clean, fast, and completely ad-free word and character counter. I’ve just published the first version on Netlify (I don’t even have a custom domain yet—I’m just using the default Netlify URL!). I’ve just launched my new project: a fast, clean-design word and character counter.

Why build this?

I know there are hundreds of counters out there, but most are cluttered with heavy ads, slow to load, or use tracking cookies. I wanted to create something extremely lightweight, fast, and distraction-free.

Technologies used:

Developed entirely in VS Code.

Hosted on Netlify (loving the instant deploys!).

What I’m looking for:

Since it’s a static site focused on speed, I’d love to get some feedback from the community.
