A few months ago, we were struggling to get our site to index on google. I covered all the normal things only to find out Bubble.io doesn't work out of the box. A 3rd party technical audit revealed core components that were missing. I've found many sites experiencing the same thing. So, here we are. Bolty, the affordable SEO scanner.
Most probably wouldn't consider a #7 finish a successful Product Hunt launch, but I'm thrilled. I didn't do any promotion beforehand and very little planning. Decided to just go for it.
I'm blown away by how much traffic was actually generated. I had over 250 (and counting) people log in to Bolty. My strategy was to use the Roast feature for lead generation, but to my surprise a few people actually are using the update their sites.
A few months ago, I was building our company's website on Bubble.io. Little did I know, there would be some marketing/SEO hurdles. After 3 months of working through it, I finally got all the technical, On Page blockers handled.
I thought I'd share what I learned by building an e-course where over 20 people signed up. After building the course, I realized I could automate all the things I was teaching Bubble devs to look for. So, I built Bolty - to provide a quick scan.
What have I learned? An SEO audit alone isn't eye-grabbing, and it's hard to get users from scratch. So, I launched #DemonMode where Bolty (powered by ChatGPT) will roast your landing page. It's been just funny enough for almost 25 people to try it (25% conversion).
Going to keep on keepin' on and see what happens.
Still working through the UX/UI, but the competitor analysis feature just wasn't doing it. But, the new roasting feature is grabbing a little more attention. A handful of people submitted their URLs. But, while the roasting is kinda funny, the value-add is really the SEO scan. Differentiating in this space will be difficult because there are so many tools that do it.
My biggest differentiator rn is price. Tools like SEMrush will provide minimal information unless you pay a lot of money per month. There must be a way to add more value to Bolty to enhance a website.
I've talked to a few users, and competitor analysis just wasn't doing it for them. So, I ran another idea by them - "What if I roasted your landing page?".. "Ha! That would make me want to drop my url in there".
So, here's to releasing a new feature! It's still a little glitchy because the API is a little slow, but it's kinda funny :)

I have a pretty small network and getting a product out there is difficult. This seems to be the great challenge with marketing. I'm starting to do outreach on Twitter, Facebook, and Slack channels to gain some interest. I've had about 8 people login with 100 people view the page, so I'm at about an 8% conversion rate.

Hey fabform, I took an opportunity to try out a new feature. Hope you don't mind, but I experimented with your site. One of the biggest potential indexing blockers is the missing canonical tags.

Landing page looks nice, but the signup process is king of clunky. After adding the sitemap in step 2, nothing happened.
After logging in, there is no sitemap saved and I can't add a new one on the settings. The input to add the URL is there, but no button to submit, just "To submit a new url, it's simple, just subscribe!"The login page autofill doesn't work for the email, which is kind of annoying.
Tried to use the https://app.bolty.ai/no-account-issues?sitemap=https://www.docsfold.com/sitemap.xml, says 470 issues, but list is empty.
Sorry for the rant, just trying to help :)

Hey @gmoniz, I just pushed an update to your account. I found a bug in my code to generate.
I took a peek, and your site is setup pretty nicely. Nothing major. You may find the "Page Insights" helpful if you're looking for ideas to improve your copy :)

You are in good company 🙂. We need to be there for each other. I'm wondering if you can offer a domain search that doesn't require creating an account. Then you say "create an account to unlock X, Y, Z features." That would certainly attract me to your tool.

Nice! Would also be great to see issues in priority order. The color map is a bit confusing.
You could also probably get away with 1 page free rather than 10.

Yeah! That's exactly what I'm thinking. Build more pages in to create an account.
I tried out Silatus, but it never came back with a PRD.

You should checkout reachowl.com for the automated facebook DM marketing to acquire early customers.
Bolty started off as a website scanner, but it's grown so far beyond that. I've recently added new functionality to scan competitors to identify their trends and gaps (as well as who they are). This is big for extending a value proposition in the right way. The 2nd big addition is setting up an automated tool for scanning sites to describe what a viewer may see and providing feedback on how to improve.
