EZiD
Easy-to-integrate passwordless auth solution
We're excited. We pitched to a number of investors, VCs and angels and we found one that believed in our mission.
The past few weeks have been tough stress testing our idea and solution, interviewing users and finding the first few initial customers who are jumping up and down for our product.
We're glad it's all paid off (at least until the money runs out).
We aim to ramp up engineering and marketing efforts with the intention of reaching our goal of a complete MVP and 50 quality leads to join our waitlist for our launch.
From the 85+ interviews we conducted, we wanted to capture the pain points expressed and converted them to page copy.
Since we knew it was easier, more scalable and more profitable to work with businesses, we wanted to help them build passwordless authentication to help their customers.
We tried a few of them where we targetted a number of different pain points:
- businesses want more conversion
- businesses care about security
- businesses want to give their customers a better CX
Ultimately, the people who will implement this solution are devs. They're the ones who will choose the best solution! We are onto something here..

This was a huge achievement for us - we literally spoke to anyone who would speak to us friends, family, shopkeepers, the pet dog and obviously businesses.
We found a few things interesting:
-
For users, password managers aren't used by everyone and they still found the experience terrible
-
Businesses don't think about authentication but identified it as an area where people drop out of the conversion funnel a lot
-
They loved the idea of a passwordless solution :)

Woo! Okay we know the goal isn't to get customers who don't pay but they've expressed significant interest in our product.
We reached out to online businesses all over the world (Australia, Portugal, Sweden, Norway Singapore) and spoke to around 15, with 9 of them giving strong verbal support.
For us, this is good validation, but not the strongest validation. We'll continue reaching out to businesses and see how we go!

Dhruv (engineer/PM), Prashant (identity/architect) and I (Jason, commercial) met through an accelerator program in Sydney Australia and bonded over the fact we all found passwords annoying.
We didn't like password managers and discovered that new technological protocols were recently available that allowed us to build some pretty cool things.
We've decided to tackle how we can help businesses and their customers get rid of passwords for good. Right now, we're not seeing any solid solution that's winning this market so we'll explore this for a while.
We're super pumped!

Our team found passwords frustrating. We built EZiD because passwords are still an issue for both users and website owners. Users are at risk of phishing attacks, and websites lose user conversion.
