Reviews, Lists and Stories About Indie Tools
One week after starting the indietools publication on Medium, I've just released the third tool review!
So far I have reviewed:
Userships (https://www.indiehackers.com/product/userships)
Remotive (https://www.indiehackers.com/product/remotive)
RightMessage (https://www.indiehackers.com/product/rightmessage)
Here the links to the reviews:

So far, I haven't gained any Newsletter subscribers, which doesn't surprise me. The publication has gained three followers, which also isn't a lot, but I'm actually fine with those numbers. The articles got a decent amount of traffic, considering the effort I put into marketing, which tells me that there is an audience and also a possibility to make money with the content.
I've gotten messages from a few IndieHackers, which was also motivating. π
For now I will continue to write reviews and I will start adding Lists of tools and hopefully some interviews with the founders of these tools in the future.
Yesterday I published the first tool review on Medium.
I also set up a newsletter with Mailchimp and a signup form for the Medium posts with Upscribe.
I decided to "validate" the blog idea on Medium, because I just realized that this might be a subject i could commit to, but I'm not sure how I want to make money with it yet.
If I can get 100 newsletter subscribers, I'll get a domain and start writing the blog with a WordPress setup.

Love that you're starting small!
What are you using as your distribution strategy for the content you publish?

hey @LachlanKirkwood
thanks! :)
Right now, I want to actually write some content before really launching it. So I'm writing single articles, sharing them on the indietools twitter (no followers yet) and then retweeting it with my personal twitter (few followers, since I was never really into twitter :) ).
In the future I will keep doing the same with Twitter, but will also share it with my LinkedIn community (12.5K). I will contact the makers of the tools I review and ask them to share it with their community.. I'll share the articles with the IH community, maybe as Milestones...
I'll probably build other social profiles too and design some content strategy..
To be quite honest, this time I didn't want to think too much about the future, because I often start "dreaming" and then don't actually do anything.. so i just decided to start writing and figure out the distribution later, since digital marketing is my day-to-day job and figuring that out shouldn't be an issue...
Happy to hear any suggestions tho :)

Maybe you can share the Medium link here on IH, too.
About
I realized that I love reading and talking about startups, indie hacker projects and all things related, so I decided to start writing about the lesser known, but very useful tools that people build as side projects.
