Meettrics
Beautiful scheduling for you and your company
With recent layoffs at Shypple, my former day job, a large amount of time opened up. Thank you tech recession! It's rare I get such instances in life to apply a full-time effort to my side projects so I wanted to make the most of it.
Meettrics is a platform to engage your customers at the touchpoints of scheduling, forms, and payments. We want all your customer interactions to be driven without the tedious work of having multiple other platforms. We built out our product quite wide and now are starting to build it up and connect all the features together in an intuitive manner.
- Upgraded dashboard with recently viewed items for easy navigation
- Added a new sidebar styling for contrast and some cleanup around the sliding navigation
- A completely rebuilt forms builder that allows a closer visualization of the final product
- CRMS tab was unveiled to everyone
- Added a CRM Contact input form field that will collect info and populate it to your contacts automatically
- So. Many. Bugfixes.
It's getting close to being where I desire it to be but the hours are long. I estimate another 800 hours of polishing this app before it is where I want to be.
Try it out and let us know what you think.
It's been an eventful and busy year. First real customers and trials, lots of bugs, tons of feedback. Building as a side project is difficult and completely different than having a team of devs ready to tackle any issue or feature. But build we do and slowly we are starting to gain some steam. Some highlights
- Launched a new Forms feature to offer forms to cover simple to complex use cases.
- Launched the ability to collect Payments via Stripe
- Combine scheduling, forms, and payments in one unified flow
- Group scheduling options
- A CRM section for managing contacts and collecting stats around your interactions.
- Onboarded 2 team members to help with additional dev and business support.
Making great products takes time. I personally wouldn't say Meettrics is 'great' yet but it's simply applying the polish and the UX, which takes time. Lots of time. For the last half of this year, we are focusing on improving and making sure the existing feature set has a great market fit. In addition, we are looking to refine our numbers around the cost of a trial and paying member.
Try us out and let us know what you think.

Want to help in a bigger way? As a side project, we are always looking for fellow indie hackers that want to help. We have a large need for design/UX and marketing resources. Our development backlog is miles long too!

Well, it's been working for a few weeks. But those pesky details like docs and testing take some time. We are one connection away from being able to publish to the marketplace.
Do you have a Zapier account you are willing to try out? Read and connect your Zapier account using the guide below. Submit a support request after connecting and we will give you a year of trial time for your help!

Quarter one is now over. It was the most active product quarter for Meettrics. The underlying core work finished up last year. I wanted to rush the product to an "MLP" state. I am happy that it is now in that state 🎉.
Microsoft Outlook connection was added to now allow for Office 365 calendars. It's buggy still and needs more testers. The MS api's are not as well built as Google and had more deviations from standards than I expected.
Hubspot was created. Connect to your instance via Oauth2.0 and sync new bookings through Hubspot meeting events. It will automatically create any new contacts from you based on the email.
To round out integrations, Zapier provides a nice way to integrate quickly with just about anything. We will publish updates to bookings to Zapier to send to other marketing automation integrations.
It became pretty clear that some form of group scheduling was needed. In dogfooding the software, it was hard to schedule meetings with more than two people.
So we added round robin and group scheduling. Some testing needs to be done yet to verify it's working perfectly.
Oh, and the website is about 80% of the way translated. Since we are based in Amsterdam, we started with Dutch of course. I find that getting outside of the US market has good results in cheaper AdWords and people love products in their native language (especially when it's not a common one)
I entered this quarter driving this solely by myself. But I am a dev at heart and not interested in running a company or marketing. We exit the quarter with three contributors to the project. I found a great person to run and grow the business. And a few dev friends are finding it fun to help out and see their features used quickly.
We are also exiting the quarter with signups! And money is starting to come in (albeit very little haha). Still great to see.
I'm not sure if this was what I planned for this quarter but I'm excited to see the progress and what comes next quarter. The biggest thing I am focusing on is getting more users to stabilize the bugs and quirks. Software really needs usage to become stable. Already edge cases are appearing. Hopefully, by May it can be deemed fully stable and tested.

I've reached the first startup blocker. Meettrics needs to create a customer-driven product feedback cycle.
I'm at a point in the product where I realize as a developer role I need to step back a bit. The feature list is endless and I could build for the indefinite future.
Building the product for myself is great. However, there are many small UX tweaks and kinks to work out that I simply can't see being intimately involved with the implementation.
Thus the current goal is to find three people that are willing to help with testing and giving feedback. I've found one so far so 33% there 🎉 !
Once I get that customer-driven product feedback cycle, the next blocker is going to probably be creating revenue.

I removed the beta signup page! Meettrics is now available for external users! The last six to eight months saw my development velocity plummet as other priorities took hold and pandemic blues set in. November brought some much-needed changes to allow me to get back in the proper state of mind to give Meettrics another push.
I would have liked to spend more time testing as there is still a decent amount of polish to finish on the existing product. But there comes a time when you just need to go for it and for Meettrics, this seems to be about the correct time.
Currently, Meettrics focuses on scheduling and calendar invitations akin to Calendly. While some of the advanced analytics is built, the next few months will be focused on polishing the calendar invitation feature set and then will move back towards the analytics.
I'm not actively promoting the product yet until I am confident that all the major and minor kinks are worked out. Help me out at https://www.meettrics.com

Integrations are a vital use case for scheduling applications to track analytics and assist with business workflows. The first integration we are launching is Google Analytics to get viewer metrics.
The integration can be configured for all your meeting templates, or customized for each template. Integrations are included with any business plan.
We are still in beta testing but enter your email now and receive your invite soon!

nice! keep going!
When starting Meettrics I wanted to prove that success is just "time *effort". I haven't focused on the core product as much, mainly focusing on my Olympus starter template (see other products by me).
That said, I decided to focus on the scheduling and Calendly style features of Meettrics first. At this point, everything is ready to go to start some more comprehensive testing with people I do not know.
Meettrics has the hands-down best scheduling look and experience of any platform out there. It's also half the price and doesn't come with the stupid limitations of other platforms.
If you're unhappy with the Calendly experience (or cost), reach out and I can set you up and help tailor-make the experience to your needs. I'm also looking for companies that use Calendly for marketing automation style integrations.

This is awkward...we've been working on Meetrics (meetrics.io) for about 2 years now as well.

Haha great minds think alike! Admittedly I will probably change the name soon. I already have decided it but it's a bit lower priority item until I push the product a bit further along.

Wow, what a coincidence. Is it only the name similar, or the products also solve the same problems?

Not totally sure yet, but it seems like this version is coming at it from a scheduling perspective. We're focused on meeting health and collect data through automated crawling.
Here's the original post from one of our founders about the problem we wanted to solve at Storyblocks: https://engineering.videoblocks.com/analyzing-meeting-metrics-using-the-google-calendar-api-3c76c9f8ffea

It looks like a pretty similar idea in some regards but yeah, I started with getting a basic scheduling app up and running first. My current thinking is for any analytics to be useful, I want people to use the app on a more regular basis. Thus scheduling becomes the segue to more advanced metrics. That said.. I really like the scheduling part so I want to also be able to sell that as a niche standalone in the long term.
The ideas for your metrics are pretty similar to mine and many of the same thoughts. I wanted to take a bit more robust approach than "meetings bad" or "meetings expensive". Can you find breakdowns in your communication for instance? Things like do product and development barely talk to each other, or sales are booking fewer meetings so we can expect a harder pipeline down the road to close?

i've been using savvycal right now... ugh. none of them are amazing.
It's been almost 8 months since the last update. When I had the idea a lot of how the future would unfold was unclear. With Meettric's I've tried to do a little bit just about every day. Overtime the unclear parts fell into place and I am ready to go. Today I am finishing up an early version of the marketing site. Lots more tweaks to come but the goal is to funnel and gather as many testers as possible.
VC vs Side Project
I always envisioned myself getting VC funding and this idea wasn't any different. But I discovered I don't want to put my future into other people's hands. This will remain an indie project.
Great Quality Software
Iterate fast, get the MVP out asap, jam the users in as fast as possible. We have all probably heard these things. But what if time wasn't a factor? Is that the really best advice? Bad code can make money, but it takes good code to build a company. I've poured a decade of failures into making sure Meettrics is right from the ground up. I'll launch Meettrics officially when I am happy with the quality of the code.
Lots more to come
Stay tuned for more frequent updates! I am looking for early testers that are willing to give feedback. Just send me your email on meettrics.com

I put together quite a bit of research in the month or two and got some initial feedback from friends and colleagues. However I need to push the research group beyond my friend group into finding some people willing to try the product as a beta user (at no cost of course) or participate in a quick interview about the idea.
In order to do this I put up a pretty quick landing page with the core selling points of the product and a signup form.

Most companies run into times where they question the meetings they have. It's easy to be anti-meeting but they can really make your company run efficiently. But how do you know?
