Thanks Kevon. I learned a lot from talking to Arvid (especially about the way he uses Twitter + writing in public as an easy author platform.) Hope you got something useful from it for your own stuff.

And I learned even more from you, Rob :D And now, funny enough, I am learning a lot from Kevon too, as he's building a Build in Public guide that I can highly recommend.

That's the joy of the IH community: no matter how "successful" and "well-known" we are; here, we are peers, teaching each other.

Thanks John -- never would have gotten it this far without all the wonderful wisdom you've shared on community and more.

still learning myself! really fun to see how you're doing it.

there really isn't a "right" way.

I consider this a chance to diversify and reach another (preference-based) fragment of your existing or potential audience. Some people love video, some audio, and some want super-heavy paperback books for their cats to sit on. I can only recommend it :D

This needs more upvotes!! Super useful for nearly all IHs.

Hah, thanks RJ. Yeah, it's like Arvid says in the first bit (paraphrased):

"Bootstrapping a business, writing a book, it's basically the same thing. Pick an audience, design a value proposition, find a way to reach them."

Hah, thanks :). If it's relevant for you, I'll probably be putting out something about the business side of books every week or two on the youtube channel.

Amazing! Two authors of books that helped me a lot during the past year.
Thank you so much for this video! And for your books!

Thanks Conrad -- was super fun for me to finally have the chance to dig into Arvid's view on all this. Thanks for watching :)

Conrad is a fine person, Rob. He really is. I had the privilege of mentoring him for a while, and he is just the kindest person.

It is for Conrad (and people who want to be like Conrad) that I get up every day :D

I get up almost entirely for coffee ;)
