I'm building ClientDock, a lightweight onboarding/handoff portal for freelancers a branded space where clients can upload documents, fill in forms, and track project status, instead of chasing everything over email or WhatsApp.

I'm still early in the process and would love any feedback or thoughts from this community especially if you're a freelancer or agency owner who's felt the pain of scattered onboarding. What do you currently use (if anything) to onboard new clients?

Thanks so much for reading, and open to any suggestions! πŸ™

If you've ever freelanced, you know the real chaos isn't the project itself β€” it's onboarding. Chasing clients for logos and content over email, losing track of who sent what, and juggling scattered WhatsApp threads and Drive links before you can even start building.

I built ClientDock to fix exactly that: a clean, branded portal where your clients upload files, fill out forms, and check project status β€” all in one place, under your own brand, not some generic shared folder link.

With ClientDock you can:
πŸ”Ή Send clients a branded portal instead of a messy email thread
πŸ”Ή Collect files and form responses in one dashboard
πŸ”Ή Auto-remind clients when something's still pending
πŸ”Ή Look more professional from the very first interaction

This is genuinely the tool I wish I'd had when I started freelancing β€” so I built it for every freelancer who's tired of the onboarding back-and-forth.

Would love your feedback, questions, or just to hear how you currently handle client onboarding.

Two buyers hide behind "freelancers." The solo designer wants a simple client intake form to look professional (needs templates, $29 one-time mindset). The agency owner needs white-label onboarding for 20 monthly clients with automated workflows, custom branding, and CRM integrations (needs enterprise features, $200/mo budget). Your name and positioning speak to the solo freelancer. The agency buyer sees "for freelancers" and thinks "too small for my team."

yes we just updated the saas.

Since you built this from your own freelance workflow, what was actually costing you the most before ClientDock β€” waiting on missing assets, keeping track of what had arrived, or the back-and-forth with the client?

Honestly, it was the back-and-forth. I'd ask a client for logos or copy, they'd forget, I'd follow up three times, still unclear what arrived. I built ClientDock so clients get one clear link to upload everything no more chasing, no more guessing what's still missing.

That makes sense. The fact that the real cost was the chasing rather than the asset collection itself is what caught my attention.

I'd be interested in continuing the conversation by email if you're open to it. What's the best email to reach you on?

As a freelance web developer, I found the messiest part of every project wasn't the work itself it was onboarding. Chasing clients for files over email, tracking who sent what, and juggling scattered WhatsApp messages
